Setting the TV (multicast)

First you need to download VLC (Video Lan Client) - is a program that plays MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and DivX files, DVDs, digital satellite stations and live video in unicast or multicast. Beware, I recommend installing the latest version.

VLC player download it here.

Setting up VLC and Multicast:

Select Tools -> Settingsn

Nastavenie multicastu 1

To adjust the SAP announces it is necessary to switch to All settings
Nastavenie multicastu 2

In box Playlist -> The screening modules -> SAP enter the IP address: 233.10.47.10

Nastavenie multicastu 4

For a better view (removal of snow) in box choose Video -> Filters -> Filter Module of video option to remove translation. (For older versions of VLC this filter called Filter videos for interleaving) then confirm the settings by clicking the Save button.

Nastavenie multicastu 5

At this point everything is set. So restart VLC. If you use Windows firewall, firewall alert will be shown, click the Allow button, respectively Unblock. If you use a different firewall, or no window will be shown, you have to set it manually.

Now should broadcast work. If not, check the following steps:

The correct setting of IGMP protocol

It is necessary to for the proper use of multicast receiving using of IGMP protocol version 2. Windows Vista and newer already have set it automatically. In Windows XP it is also in the vast majority version set correctly. You can verify this by running regedit and checking the parameter as shown below (the path to the parameter is at the bottom of the window), or run the following reg file (the file is needed before starting the store).

Firewall settings:

If you did not see the alert when you first start the firewall, you must configure it manually. Firewall in Windows XP configure via Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall. In the Exceptions tab, select the Add option program. From the menu choose VLC media player.

One of the most common problems is usually badly configured firewall, or poorly configured VLC.

Careful when you first try to load the playlist it may take several tens of seconds. It is important to monitor the messages window where we should discover debug information. As long as even after several minutes nothing happens, something is wrong. Very often a problem in the firewall misconfiguration.  As for the proper functioning of the multicast is to be accepted by UDP destination port of 1234 and the destination port 9875th It is important to accept the IGMP protocol is IP type 2 (IGMP), of course, unless your firewall allows, for example, is the Windows XP ICF does not. Through the first UDP port runs the video itself, through the second port progress reporting playlist via SAP protocol.

Another common problem is usually Hamachi or VMware. If you have them installed it can cause problems. Then you need to run VLC with the following switch vlc.exe --miface-addr 147.175.xxx.xxx
or in reference to the VLC properties (right click and then select Properties option) Shortcut tab Target fill in the fields according to the following figure (example: "C: \ Program Files \ VideoLAN \ VLC \ vlc.exe" --miface-addr 147.175.179.87)

In case you are using ESET Smart Security version 4 or higher it is necessary to adjust a few settings according to the instructions

If there is a problem, try to run Wireshark and see if you receive the IGMP packets and SAP packets. If so, the fault is at you.

Unless your stream still does not work, try to wait a moment, VLC reload or restart the computer, and then try to contact your administrator. Please, when describing your problem be accurate but concise, describe briefly what you have a problem, what operating system and hardware you are using.
